Who are LTGDC?

LTGDC is the Government’s lead regeneration agency for the Lower Lea Valley and London Riverside, two areas with the greatest potential for growth in London and in the Thames Gateway.

Since our creation in 2004, we have made great progress towards creating vibrant, thriving sustainable communities that are environmentally responsible, well designed and provided with all necessary infrastructure.

Our work is focused on eight key locations where the commercial market has failed to renew communities and create new high quality environments and where our intervention will make the biggest difference.

Our projects in these key locations are designed to encourage other public and private sector organisations to invest in the area. We aim to secure long lasting benefits for existing and new communities in east London.

35,000 new homes and 50,000 new jobs will be created in the Lower Lea Valley with 33,000 new homes and 17,000 new jobs in London Riverside.

Although our areas face major social and physical challenges, they benefit both from the unrivalled potential of the waterways of the River Thames and River Lea and open spaces, together with the major economic drivers of Canary Wharf, Stratford City and the 2012 Games.
