Board Members
Who appoints the Board?
London Thames Gateway Development Corporation’s Board consists
of 12 members plus the Chairman, and is appointed by the Secretary
of State. Board members are appointed for their property,
regeneration or commercial experience and any special local
knowledge. Membership of the Board includes representatives of the
six boroughs in the LTGDC’s area (London boroughs of Barking and
Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham
Forest) and the London Assembly.
What does the Board do?
The role of the Board is to contribute directly to LTGDC
achieving its overall aim to accelerate the London Thames Gateway
by:
- contributing to organisation’s strategies and programmes
- representing LTGDC externally
- promoting the organisations interests and communicating its
aims publicly.
The Board also has a role in ensuring that LTGDC meets the
highest standards of regularity, propriety and value for money in
the use of public funds.
