Peter Andrews biography
Chief Executive
Peter
advises the Board in setting the strategy and is responsible for
ensuring the organisation delivers against the plans and policies
set by the Board and its sponsor department, Communities and Local
Government. He is also the designated Accounting Officer with
personal responsibility to Parliament for financial management and
the effective use of public funds.
Peter joined London Thames Gateway Development Committee in 2005,
shortly after its formation, and has been responsible for
recruiting staff, developing the management team and growing the
organisation to enable it to become a highly effective regeneration
agency. A key element in this has been to ensure LTGDC has a
high profile and excellent relations with its key stakeholders
including national, regional and local government.
Peter is a chartered surveyor with over 25 years experience in the
development of complex urban sites. He joined LTGDC in 2005
from Swindon’s Urban Regeneration Company where he had been Chief
Executive since 2003.
After qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981, Peter moved into
property fund management with Warburg Investment Management and
then property finance with Bankers Trust Company. He spent
the next 15 years of his career in property development as a
director of Dwyer PLC and then European Managing Director for
American property group, Tishman International.
