Applications referred to the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation will be determined by either the Corporation's Planning Committee or by the Corporation's Director of Planning acting under powers delegated to him by the Corporation.
Planning Committee meetings will be held within the LTGDC area at Stratford Town Hall. These meetings are open to the public and it will be possible for parties with a specific interest in an application to address the committee. For information on forthcoming meetings see our News page.
There is a formal procedure for such participation which you can find on this website under "Guidance Notes"; this process requires a booking to be made with the Corporation's Planning Committee Clerk Sarah Egan before the meeting.
Copies of Planning Committee Agenda, Officer Reports, and minutes of meetings are published under News page.
Certain limited categories of major applications are subject also to the Direction of the Mayor of London. In these cases applications will be submitted to the London Borough as with any other application. The London Thames Gateway Development Corporation will consider the application's merits and will then refer the application to the Mayor of London for their direction.
Some major applications, particularly those of a controversial nature, may be "called in" for decision by the Secretary of State. These applications will be formally referred to the Secretary of State by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation following consideration by the Corporation.
