If you are thinking about making a planning application, the first step is to contact your local council planning department. It is nearly always beneficial to discuss your proposals with planning officers from the Borough before submiting your application.
Where it is clear that a proposed application will be determined by the Development Corporation, it will be necessary for pre-application discussions to be undertaken with officers from both the London Borough and the LTGDC. The LTGDC will also involve officers of the Greater London Authority where necessary.

Applications for larger strategic developments to be decided by LTGDC will continue to be submitted to the relevant London Borough. The London Borough will deal with the validation and registration of the application as in the past. If an application is invalid, the London Borough's staff will provide advice to the applicant as to the actions which are necessary to make the application registrable.
The London Borough will deal with all matters relating to the publicity of the application, the receipt of comments from interested parties and the initial procurement of specialist advice from statutory and non statutory consultees.
In the event of an application straddling the boundary of two local authority areas, a decision will be taken in each case about which Borough handles the consultation and administrative process.
Planning application fees should be paid by cheque payable to "LTGDC".
